10:00 - 14:30
As last year’s Marton walkabout was so successful, the Greater Wellington branch has planned another walking tour, this time in the historic precinct of Whanganui, then catered lunch at the Vintage Car Club rooms.
Register for lunch at the bottom of the form no later than 7 PM, Wed 6 October or email Chris Butler with Name and Lunch Numbers.
Meet between 10 and 11 AM at Mud Ducks Cafe (cnr Taupo Quay and Drews Ave, Whanganui) for a cuppa and snack, for the walking tour at 11:30 AM. COVID-19 restrictions means that not everyone will fit into the cafe, so feel free to order a takeaway coffee and mingle outside or along the river edge.
For parking, drive into the iSite parking area (off Taupo Quay), then turn left at the river into Moutoa Quay, then immediate left into the carpark. Marshals will guide you to your parking position. Ignore the parking times, as they are not applied on weekends.
A reporter from the Whanganui Chronicle will be onsite for interviews and photos. We will position the vehicles for a photo opportunity.
11:30-12:30 Walking Tour. Keep your eyes peeled!
12:45 Head up to the Whanganui branch of the Vintage Car Club for a catered lunch at about 1 PM. 26 Patapu St, East Whanganui. Directions will be provided.
PLEASE BRING CORRECT CASH for lunch, as there is no EFTPOS.
$17.50 P.P. ($35.00 per couple)
In the case of inclement weather, bring your wet weather gear and a pencil. There is a mixture of covered and uncovered areas during the walk.
