Open Days the first Sunday of every month. A volunteer heritage railway group providing the public with steam &/or diesel train rides in a heritage “bush tramway” style setting in the Waikato.

From Auckland, travel to Huntly and turn right at first traffic lights, to cross Tainui Bridge then continue west for 12km, to1153 Rotowaro Road.

Costs: Adult $15.00, Child $0.00 – $5.00

Rides on an old bush “jigger” are usually available at a small extra cost. Souvenirs, a sausage sizzle, other food items and drinks are normally available on Open Days.
As well as train rides, the railway has a significant collection of heritage industrial railway items on display, much of which came from the coal & timber industries.

The Open Day ticket covers all rides on the main train between 10.00am and 3.00pm, which run hourly and last about 40 minutes. You could go for the day, but we suggest meeting there at 1.30pm, for the 2pm ride.
